Griping on the Road Back

I noticed this post on the Silver and Black blog today...

It looks like a few Raider fans are starting to spew their grievances at Brother Al and the gang for the two year deterioration project under Norv Turner. Check out this post from David Moody on SFGate's Silver and Black Blog.

Although Moody is supporting the team, he is way down on the Radiers choice for Art Shell to man the Raiders for the rest of the decade. I have to admit that I'm puzzled at Shell's choice of Tom Walsh as his offensive coordinator...Considering that Walsh has been running a bed and breakfast for the last three seasons...I'm up for giving Art Shell his due this year. Here's my comment.

-------------------

Although I agree with this comment...

"The diagnosis of the Raiders is not good I'm afraid; we are a team which has two years to live. The team, the fan base, and Art Shell have two years and with the hiring of Tom Walsh we will fail next year and I know this before we even suit up."

You have to give Art a chance. He may have picked up a thing or two in Kansas City, the Super Bowl run in Atlanta, and during his time with the League Office.

Yes, I think when Wisenhunt chose to stay that everyone was shocked, and I have to admit that I do question the Walsh hire. Yet, I'm sure that Brother Al has faith with his move, or else it wouldn't have happened.

Let time do it's thing. The Raider mystique has left over the past two seasons, and the front office is making changes to adapt. They're doing a great job clearing cap room and restructuring contracts right now. Also, the Raiders have always drafted well. So, the restructuring process is in place. If anything , Art Shell will be the patsy for the reconstruct.

In the meantime, give the Raid-ahs and Art Shell a shot to re-load.
