Friday Tips

Fri-Day...Nice-Nice...

Thinking about some things that I'll be talking about on the radio show on Sunday night....

Tyler Hansborough - UNC's best power forward recruit since...Rasheed Wallace. Call me bold, but I'm going to go with that call. Yes, over Antawn Jamieson, Kris Lang, and Sean May. Hopefully, this guy doesn't have a good post-season because times have changed people...Times have changed. It sucks, but you're going to have to keep your fingers crossed for seven or eight months.

Justin Bohlander - A lot of people may be shocked by him leaving his chance to play UNC Basketball behind in his path, but when I saw him rocking a brown and white Guatamalan weave bag with a little bit longer locks than last year. I understand the choice now. Judging from the choice of Birks that he was sporting at RJ Reynolds, I'll let you put two and two together....Chill out on him...He's going to enjoy Carolina in other ways.

Great article by Jason Whitlock on yesterday's ESPN's Page 2 called "The Haters Can't Handle the Truth". Yes, I do not agree with all of Whitlock's point of views, but he does make me question and talk to myself after I read his articles. If you're a writer, who can do that to someone, my opinion is that you're doing a great job.

He makes a great comparsion between Team USA and the state of basketball in the U.S. today to the Soviet and the Eastern European infusion of talent during the 70s in the NHL...The Team Summit Series between Canada and the U.S.S.R....Where in the hell did he pull that one from?

Is there a thin line of racism involved with rooting for the 'Dream Team of 04'...Possibly. Is it more to the fact that they're all spoiled, overpaid, whining brats? More likely. Yet, I do agree with him on one thing. Are the Euros playing ball the way it should be played? Yes. Do we not how to play D...still? Yes. Is the NBA diluted? Yes. Are the Euros better team players than the U.S.? Yes. Can they lead teams to NBA titles? Not yet. The Euros may change the game, but when we adjust, we will dominate the board...still.

University of Miami...Will they go undefeated this ACC season? I think so...Defy me before Sept, 6....Raymond Felton sporting a green Oakland A's '74 jersey of Rollie Fingers....Straight up getting ill...Yes, 'Throwbacks' are way past the fifteen minute mark, but when worn right, they're still dope.

Friday Night Lights,
IronDog
