Blowin' Up
Man, oh man...Did my picks take a hit or what?...
Damn...I think more so than any other year past that the weekend upsets are a true sign of parity in the NCAA now...Yeah, the ratings are up and the games are more exciting, but you can't tell me that there's a tremendous difference between a superpower #2 seed and a #11, #7, or a #12...You just can't...
So, what do I think of the Heels? They're "blowin' up" right now, and they're rolling right for a showdown with you-know-who. However, my good friend and co-host, Justin "The Gach-Man" Gach, is telling me to stop it, and he's requesting politely that I don't overlook Villanova on Friday night...I won't big-man...I won't.
A lot of people got on my ass on last night's "SportsRap" for saying that "NC State's play is fun to watch." I'll back that statement up 100%. They're fun because that team plays hard, passes the ball, and they move...That's the way an college basketball offense should be played...Honestly, I haven't been enthralled by an offense since the Sacramento Kings of 2002...I really love watching the Princeton style offense work.
Now please, everyone step off of Herb Sendek...
On the other games, yes...the West Virginia game was a "instant classic", and I do think they could snag Texas Tech. I also think that U-Dub better watch it...But that's if they get by Louisville and the Bronx legend...Francisco Garcia.
If you want a great one, watch the Chicago street fight at the United Center with UW-Milwaukee and Illinois...It'll be a banger.
Goings on in the Hill: I left the McCauley St. Palace for the first time to watch the weekend games. I also can't believe that with my departure I found myself at Dominic's Sports Bar on West Franklin, which is still a barn, but it definitely does the trick...If anyone feels like challenging me to a free-throw competition there again, I'm up for it.
I rain Js like LeBron in the Powerade commercial...
Also, I know Top o' the Hill is the "jawnt" and all, but I just can't get into it there. Every time I'm in there, I feel like I'm in an airport brewery.
